MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt am Main

MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt/Main is one of the world’s most important museums of contemporary art and has established a firm place for itself in the international museum scene. Ever since MMK first opened in 1991, it plays a major part in the cultural and social life of Frankfurt.

Today, the MMK Collection includes over 5.000 works of international art, ranging from the 1960s to the immediate present. The works provide a representative cross-section of modern and contemporary art from painting, sculpture, film, photography and performance art of national and international art scene.

In order to present the large museum collection more comprehensively, a new annex of the MMK will be open in the TaunusTurm in October 2014 with 2.000 square meters additional space in Frankfurt's banking district. In the postmodern architectural icon by Hans Hollein at Domstraße 10, the MMK 1, highlights and classics of international contemporary art will be available on a long term basis, including works by Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg and Joseph Beuys.

In the opposite MMK3, the former customs office of Frankfurt, new and inspiring positions of latest contemporary art will be presented.
