Recognition for special commitment in Frankfurt
The city of Frankfurt awards the Tony Sender Prize to pay tribute to women who have taken a special stand for equal rights for men and women and against disadvantage mad discrimination. This can include critical films or biting cabaret, becoming involved with women in detention, educational work with migrant women or supporting single parent mothers and fathers. Awards are made to Frankfurt women or institutions that have made an important contribution to women's politics in the cultural, social or socio-political arena. The prize is worth EUR 10.000.

In memory of female politician Tony Sender
This prize is how the city commemorates the committed female politician Tony Sender (1888 - 1964), who, as she put it, was exposed in Frankfurt am Main to the political forces that shaped her and where she spent her vital formative years.
