The partnership with the emerging capital of the Emirate Dubai opened up new ways of cooperation.

Location
As the second largest city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dubai is located on the Persian Gulf.

Significance
Dubai is commercial center, tourist attraction and hub for business relations with the Arab region. The Dubai International Airport is used by many airlines for stopovers between Europe and Southeast Asia. To be attractive for high-class tourism Dubai City recently completed innovative hotel construction projects such as the Burj al Arab and the Burj Khalifa. Dubai City as the city is called to distinguish between the city and the emirate as a whole is also well known for its shopping malls and its famous gold market.
Since 1969 the oil industry emerged as the main income source.

Numerous museums and mosques, parks and green spaces, Dubai Zoo, and the 321-meter-high-class hotel Burj al Arab as well as the 828 m high-class hotel Burj Khalifa, the landmarks of the Dubai

Attractions
On both sides of the Dubai Creek are two business districts located, which are called Deira and Bur Dubai. With impressive high-rise towers and huge shopping malls both districts show the modernity of the emirate Dubai. But in the picturesque mosques and the busy souks the oriental tradition lives on. A walk along the banks of the creek shows the astonishing contrasts between the old and the new and there the centuries-old trading traditions can still be sensed.
