The centre offers biotechnology start-ups and other companies an optimum infrastructure with tailor-made office and laboratory facilities for the commercial implementation of their ideas for goods and services. It brings organisations from the finance, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors together and creates a basis for the successfully marketing of scientific findings. The international research activities of FIZ are focussed principally on the areas: inflammatory diseases, diseases of the central nervous system (CNS), proteomics. With collaboration between theoretical and applied research FIZ offers an elemental module for efficient research for new pharmaceuticals.FIZ is also a platform for a network of international co-operation partners that bring new prospects and entrepreneurial stimulation to the region.
