Cultural diversity

The Office for Multicultural Affairs (AmkA), Amt für multikulturelle Angelegenheiten (AmkA), carries out a broad range of cultural work, directed at various artistic areas.
In addition to advising cultural associations and providers of cultural events, the activities of AmkA include conceptual work regarding the integration of migrants in the field of culture.

AmkA supports the organisers of the Parade of Cultures, the "Frankfurter Jugendring", financially as well as being member of the steering committee of the parade. Organised for the first time in 2003, the parade is increasingly developing into one of Frankfurt's events renowned nationally. More than 100 organisations and groups are involved in the parade, with dance troupes, music groups and themed vehicles.

As a part of the annual River Bank Museum Celebration, AmkA organises the "Frankfurter Bühne" (Frankfurt Stage) („Frankfurter Bühne“). In cooperation with Frankfurt migrant associations and professional artists living in Frankfurt, AmkA presents a high-quality and diverse programme over three days.

As a part of the intercultural weeks, AmkA coordinates the event calendar together with the initiative committee. With the participation of the most varied groups, associations and institutions, the intercultural weeks have a permanent place in the city's events calendar.

AmkA regularly organises temporary exhibitions in its administrative offices.
