General information about the visiting program

A resolution of the Frankfurt City Parliament provided that the children and grandchildren of former Frankfurt citizens should also be invited to visit their parent's native town.

This visiting program is usually organized once a year in spring. Every year Mayor Peter Feldmann invites on behalf of the municipality (the local government) and the city council (the parliament) about 25 guests (excl. companion), who together make up a group of travellers, to a one week visit to the former native town of your parents or grandparents.

The city assumes on this occasion following costs:

  • flight ticket to Frankfurt and back home for the direct descendant
  • overnight accommodation in a hotel with breakfast
  • frame program with receptions, interesting opportunities for contact and cultural events etc.
  • a rover ticket for using the local public traffic valid on the S-Bahn, on the Frankfurt Underground, on trams and buses within the town area
  • admission tickets for an individual visit to the
Palmengarten, the zoo and the Senckenberg
Museum as well as a Museum Embankment-Ticket
